Three Imperial Pee Wee teams start seasons

    Pee Wee baseball season began Wednesday for Imperial’s three teams.
    Imperial 1 beat Imperial 3 in the season’s first game.
    Imperial 1 cranked out 22 hits en route to a 28-1 win.
    Tate Teply handled pitching duties for Imperial 1. Teply struck out three, walked two and allowed two hits.
    Brextin Moreno, Destry Oxford and Zak Anderson each had four hits. Lleyton McDaniel had a team-high five RBIs.
    Tatum May had two hits for Imperial 3. Oliver Ballesteros Bencomo, Dietrich Pursley and Robert Estrada pitched for Imperial 3.
    Imperial’s teams kept the fields hot Friday night.
    Imperial 1 opened the evening with an 11-1 win over Paxton.
    After allowing Paxton’s leadoff batter to score, Noah Rau set the Tigers down with three-straight strikeouts.
    Brextin Moreno set the tone for Imperial 1’s offense with a leadoff home run. Imperial 1 finished the first inning with a 2-1 lead.
    Rau struck out two and induced a ground out in the second inning. The offense backed him up with three more runs.
    Imperial 1 gave up a walk in the third inning, but three more Paxton strikeouts ended the threat. In the bottom half of the inning, they plated six runs.
    After holding Paxton scoreless in the top of the fourth, Imperial 1 didn’t have to bat in the bottom of the inning to take the 11-1 win.
    Rau allowed one hit and three walks while striking out 11.
    Oxford had three hits and three RBI for Imperial 1.
    Imperial 3 was back on the field Friday for a late match up with Imperial 2.
    The teams were tied at one going into the bottom of the second inning before Imperial 2 broke the game open with five runs.
    Imperial 3 scored twice in the top of the third inning, but Imperial 2 answered with four more runs.
    The game ended in four innings with Imperial 2 winning 15-4.
Busy month ahead
    Game times begin most nights at 6 p.m.
    Games continued Wednesday with Imperial 2 against Imperial 1 and Imperial 3 at Grant.
    Friday Imperial 2 will be the only Imperial team in action when it travels to Ogallala 1.
    On June 8 Imperial 1 will host Grant, Imperial 2 will travel to Wallace and Imperial 3 will go to Ogallala 2.
    On June 10, Sutherland will be in town to face Imperial 1, Imperial 2 will head to Paxton and Imperial 3 will host Hershey.
    Games on June 15 will be Imperial 1 at Ogallala 1 and Ogallala 2 at Imperial 2.
    All three teams will play June 17. Imperial 1 hosts Hershey, Imperial 2 travels to Grant and Imperial 3 will go to Sutherland.
    Games on June 22 will be Imperial 1 at Grant, Imperial 2 hosting Wallace and Imperial 3 hosting Ogallala 2.
    On June 24, Imperial 1 will go to Wallace, Imperial 2 hosts Sutherland and Imperial 3 hosts Paxton.
    Imperial 3 travels to Hershey on June 29.
    The regular season ends July 1 with Imperial 1 at Ogallala 2, Imperial 2 hosting Hershey and Imperial 3 traveling to Ogallala 1.
    The tournament will be held July 6-9 in Ogallala.
