Three Broncos place at Sutherland

Coleman Chism and Trey McCrumb led Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers with third-place finishes at Sutherland Friday. Konner McCrumb finished fourth.
Both Chism and T. McCrumb lost their first-round matches.
Chism, after losing to 13-5 Jesse Winberg of Pleasanton, bounced back with two pins in his 120-pound pool. Although he lost his fourth-round match, Chism took third with an opponent’s forfeit in the final round.
Wrestling at 175 pounds, T. McCrumb shook off a quarterfinal loss to 10-2 Aydan Kaps of Sutherland with three-straight pins. T. McCrumb pinned Perkins County’s Preston Schwanebeck, 10-4, in the third-place match after losing to Schwanebeck the night before at a dual between the two schools in Wauneta.
Konner McCrumb went 2-2 with losses to wrestlers with winning records and also pinning 9-7 Ty Simunek of Pleasanton.
Kameran McCrumb, 157 pounds, and Jack Ward, 190 pounds, each went 0-2.
At Thursday evening’s dual with PCS, Konner McCrumb won the Broncos’ only match.
Chism, Kameran McCrumb, T. McCrumb and Ward, as well as  Draven Miner, wrestled that evening.
