PeeWee teams headed to Hershey for tourney

    The Imperial PeeWee teams played their final games of the regular season last week.
    Imperial 1 hosted Tri-County League leader Grant June 28, losing the game 6-23.
    Imperial 1’s first two batters, Dylan Miscles and Rodrigo Robles, scored in the first, but Imperial 1 left bases loaded.
    After two innings with no runs, Imperial 1 scored four in the fourth inning—Robles, Aaron Cervantes, Jaxsen Villarreal and Jesus Acuna.
    Cervantes, Miscles and Acuna pitched for Imperial 1.
    Also playing last Wednesday were Imperial 2 at Ogallala 1 and Imperial 3 at Paxton.
    Last Friday’s Imperial 1 game at Hershey was cancelled. Imperial 3 was scheduled to be at Ogallala 2.

    The PeeWee tournament started Wednesday in Hershey, starting with the eighth seed, Hershey, playing the ninth seed, Wallace, with the winner taking on top-seeded Grant Thursday.
    Other games Wednesday included Imperial 3, the 11th seed, against Ogallala 2, the sixth seed, and seventh-seeded Imperial 2 against 10th seeded Ogallala 3.
    The winner of the Imperial 3/Ogallala 2 game will face third-seeded Paxton, while the winner of Ogallala 3/Imperial 2 will take on second-seeded Ogallala 1.
    Also playing Thursday will be No. 5 Imperial against No. 4 Sutherland.
    The semifinals, consolation and final games will be Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. CT.
