Mother Nature has other plans for CCS scheduled golf meets

Two invites were on  last week’s calendar for the Chase County golf team, but the forecast had other ideas.
Because of poor course conditions due to recent weather, the JV team’s May 3 trip to the Creek Valley Invite was cancelled.
The varsity team was able to make the trip to the North Platte St. Pat’s Invite Thursday.
Assistant Coach Vanessa Taylor said it was a good experience for the team.
“We got to compete against some different teams and had a bigger field of competition to work with,” Taylor said.
Chase County didn’t place anyone in the top 10.
Brice Vitosh shot a team low of 102.
Taylor said she was really proud of Vitosh for staying focused and scoring his personal best for the season.
Vitosh also played on the course last year and Taylor said she thinks this prior experience of seeing that course and knowing what to expect really helped.
“I saw a lot of improvement in his score there from last year to this year,” she said.
Gavin Wisnieski and Jessee Krausnick each shot 110. Nickolas Rau and Kaden Vogt rounded out the team with scores of 121 and 123, respectively.
“It’s always a good opportunity to get to interact with new players, and I think our golfers really enjoyed seeing some different faces at this meet,” Taylor said.
