McCrumb’s fifth-place finish highlights WP’s day at CCS Invite

The Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers battled through a long day of wrestling at Saturday’s Chase County Invite. Trey McCrumb led the Broncos with a fifth-place finish at 175 lbs.
T. McCrumb improved to 14-11 on the season with a 3-2 day and fifth place finish. T. McCrumb avenged one of his loses on the day with a win over Daden Beauprez of Yuma, Colorado in the fifth place match. His other loss went to third-place finisher Luis Enriquez of Burlington, Colorado.
Konner McCrumb had a rough day in the 113-pound bracket. Konner McCrumb lost both his matches by decision, including one to fourth-place finisher Cash Campbell of Sedgwick County/Fleming, Colorado.
At 150 lbs., Kameran McCrumb lost his first match to eventual runner up Kooper Pohl of Cozad then was knocked out in his first consolation match.
Jack Ward opened his day with a 190 lbs. loss to tournament runner up Marcus Ruano of Cozad before falling in his consolation round match.
Heavyweight Draven Miner lost both his matches to wrestlers who would go on to finish fifth and sixth.
WP also took part in the CCS Duals Thursday evening against the Longhorns and Morrill. No results were available.

The Broncos can now turn their attention to the RPAC tournament. This year’s meet will be in Benkelman Friday beginning at noon.
