Manley second, Chism fourth for WP at Medicine Valley Invite

       Wauneta-Palisade had nearly its full team on the mats at the Medicine Valley Invite Friday.
    With eight wrestlers going to work, Coach Danny Schluckebier said almost everyone wrestled their best matches of the season.
    Sean Manley was second in the 195 lb. pool.
    Schluckebier said if Manley keeps working he will do well the rest of the season.
    Coleman Chism placed fourth at 113 lbs. with a 2-2 day. Schluckebier said it was one of Chism’s best days this season.
    “Coleman did things right and just had that energy and power in him to keep going, he should be very proud of his finish,” Schluckebier said.
    Konner McCrumb also picked up a win at 106 lbs. and one of his losses came to Class D No. 2 Grady Dempcy of Sutherland.
    Also wrestling was Bobby Chism, 106 lbs.; Andrew Muckety, 120 lbs.; Justin Warembourg, 152 lbs.; and Draven Miner, 220 lbs.
    WP saw some of the state’s best wrestlers.
    B. Chism lost to Class D No. 10 Scotty Anderson of Sutherland, Muckety lost his first match to Class D No. 1 Gatlin Krepela of Pleasanton and Miner lost his first match of the day to Class D No. 3 Luke Pawloski, also of Pleasanton.

    The Broncos will travel to the Southwest Invite in Bartley Friday.
    Districts will be Feb. 10-11 in Sutherland.
    Schluckebier said WP is excited.
    Individuals continue to come together and improve as a team, Schluckebier said..
    “We are motivating each other to keep the intensity to come home with wins,” he added.
