Longhorn win rub match over Hershey Panthers

Tuesday Oct. 17 the Lady Longhorns would host their final match of the regular season in volleyball. For the second time in four days, the match was against the Hershey Panthers.
In the first week of the season these two teams met at the Lexington tournament with Hershey taking the 2-1 win.
Last Saturday in the SPVA Tournament Chase County evened the score, beating Hershey in the finals to make it one match apiece.
It was a back and forth game in the first two sets with Chase County winning the first 25-21 and Hershey winning the second 23-25.
Then the momentum all went toward the Longhorns as it looked as if they had broken Hershey’s will to win.
The Longhorns won the next two sets decisively, 25-18 and 25-16 to win the rub match and take a lot of momentum into the C1-11 subdistricts in Gothenburg.
The (13-11) Longhorns earned the #3 seed and will face #2 seeded Ogallala (23-7) on Monday Oct. 23 in Gothenburg at 4:45 p.m. MT.
Earlier on Tuesday Oct. 17 the C team and JV team took on Hershey. The C team lost the first set 19-25, won the second set 25-14 and got edged out in the third 13-15.
The junior varsity took just two sets to put away the Panthers winning 25-16 and 25-20.
