Longhorn boys basketball holds off late Kimball run

    Chase County boys held off Kimball in the second half of the Basketball game held Saturday, Jan 6 in Kimball.
    Chase County was hot in the first half and built a 20 point lead by halftime, 31-11, but the tables turned a little in the second half.
    In the third period Kimble cut into the Chase County lead by three and put together a pretty good run in the fourth, outscoring Chase County 8-14. It wasn’t enough to make up for the first half deficit, with Chase County taking the win 44-33.
    Brandon Paxton of Kimball was the top scorer for the night with 14. Paxton also had six rebounds, three steels and three blocked shots.
    Jensen Olsen led the Chase County scoring with 10, while Camron Lempke and Noah Rau had nine each and Haven  Hauxwell scored eight.
    Tristan Jablonski led Chase County with eight rebounds, while Kole Clevenger and Camron Lempke had seven apiece.
    Chase County hit 9-12 from the charity stripe for 75% while Kimball only made 8-15 for just over 50%.
    The Longhorns will travel to Southern Valley Tuesday Jan. 9 for girls and boys games starting at 3:30 p.m. MT.
