Lady Longhorns sweep Yuma Co. Lady Indians for first win

It was something the Lady Longhorns have been inching closer and closer to pulling off and Tuesday the ice was broken with the Longhorns winning three straight sets against Yuma Co.
Despite being such a young team, the Lady Horns are showing improvement each time they hit the court. With only two seniors on the squad, the coming years look pretty good.
The Horns had a slow start with Yuma scoring the first two points. Neither team could string much together for the first half of the set.
After being tied at eight the Longhorns took over and never looked back going on a six point run at one point with Miranda Spady serving from 16 to 22. The Horns closed out the first set winning 25-17.
The second set went pretty quick with the Lady Horns only allowing two runs of two and one run of three for the Lady Indians. The rest of the Indians possessions where one and done.
The Horns took the second set easily 25-15 and kept the momentum going in the third winning 25-12.
It took three sets for the JV team but they bounced back to win the match after falling in the first set 21-25.
The junior varsity got momentum on their side and rolled in the next two sets winning 25-13 and 15-10.
The C team won in straight sets 25-8 and 25-9.
Next action
The Longhorns will traveled  to Julesburg Colorado to take on Sedgwick County on Tuesday Sept. 12.
On Saturday the Lady Horns will travel to McCook for a four team tournament starting at 10 a.m. MT.
