Lady Longhorns beat Lexington in second holiday game

    In the second game at the Sidney Shootout on Dec. 30, the Longhorns cruised to victory over class B Lexington (0-9), 40-21.
    The Longhorns jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Lexington cut the lead to 19-13 at the half but that was as close as they would get.
    The pressure from the Longhorns caused 17 turnovers, of which the Horns scored 14 points from. Chase County also dominated on the offensive boards, scoring eight second chance points compared to no second chance points for Lexington.
    The Longhorns outscored Lexington by four in the third quarter and put up 12 in the fourth, while holding Lexington to just three.
    Landree McNair and Olivia Spady led the Longhorn scoring with 10 each. Miranda Spady led in rebounds with eight, followed by Peyton Owens with seven and McNair with six.
    The Longhorns were credited with 11 steals. Abby Spicer and McNair had three each.
    Ilhan Moulid led Lexington in scoring with 11.
