Kamrie Dillan an All-American for York at NCCAA Indoor Championships

    Chase County graduate Kamrie Dillan competed in the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor Championships last weekend at Cedarville, Ohio.
    Running for York College, Dillan participated in the long jump, 400-meter dash and the 4x400 relay.
    The relay was the final event of the championships. York finished third after running a time of 4:14.58. Grace College from Indiana won the national championship with a time of 4:08.94. Cedarville ran a 4:13.77 and finished second.
    Dillan’s relay team was made up of junior Maria Geeseman of Greeley, Colorado, junior Sadie Carr of Henderson, Nebraska and freshman Makayla Dinkler of Silver Lake, Nebraska.
    The 400 meter-dash finals were run Saturday afternoon. Dillan qualified with a time of 1:03.00. She went on to place fifth with a time of 1:02.61. Kayla Kunkel of Bethel (Indiana) won with a time of 59.95. Kunkel’s teammate, Michelle Moraitis was second with a time of 1:00.45.
    Dillan jumped Saturday morning and finished 17th with a leap of 4.12 meters (13’6.25”). Winning the event was Alexia Boyd of Campbellsville with a jump of 5.37 meters (17’7.5”).
    Overall, York was fifth out of 18 teams. Geeseman placed third in the 800-meter run, Dinkler second in the pentathlon and seventh in the long jump, Carr was third in the pentathlon fifth in the pole vault, Amber Dominguez seventh in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw, Ascha Utter fifth in the weight throw and the school’s distance medley team placed sixth.
    Dillan will also be competing this spring in the York outdoor track season.
