Husker volleyball #2 seed in Louisville regional

    After losing the final two games of the regular season Friday and Saturday, the Nebraska volleyball team was announced as the second seed in the Louisville regional of the NCAA volleyball tournament. Nebraska is the seventh seed overall.
    The Huskers lost at home to #3 Wisconsin 3-1 last sFriday, then fell to #9 Minnesota 3-0.
    It was announced before last Friday’s Wisconsin game that defensive specialist Kenzie Knuckles, a senior captain, would miss the rest of the season with an ACL tear, only the second such injury in John Cook’s 23 years of coaching.
    Setter Nicklin Hames didn’t dress for the Minnesota game, but was on the sidelines and took part in senior night.
    Nebraska will host the first two rounds of the regional beginning Thursday with a match against Delaware State. Kansas and Miami will also play Thursday and the winners will face off Friday night.
    Texas, Louisville, Wisconsin and Stanford are the top four overall seeds.
    Games will be streamed on ESPN+ and Husker Radio Network will broadcast the games as well.
    Omaha will once again serve as the site of the Final Four. The NCAA semifinals and championship game will be played Dec. 15 and 17 at the CHI Health Center.
