Gavin Wisnieski qualifies for State Golf in Columbus
The Chase County Golf Team competed May 13 at the C-5 District Golf Meet held at Lakeside Country Club in Elwood.
15 teams competed with the Longhorns finishing in 11th, three shots ahead of Perkins County. The top three teams qualified for next weeks state tournament in Columbus.
Kearney Catholic won easily, shooting a combined 301. Amherst placed second, shooting 323 and Chadron was third with 334.
The top 10 individual scores also qualified if not on one of the top three teams.
Gavin Wisnieski finished in a three way tie for 10th, shooting 83. The other two competitors shooting 83 also qualified.
The Class C State Tournament will be held at Elks Country Club, 5113 63rd street in Columbus, on May 21-22.
Participants will play 18 holes each day, with the low commulative score winning. All ties will be played off. Golf will begin at 9:00 am both days.
