Conference volleyball tourneys to be played this week

Tournament time is here for teams in the RPAC and SPVA conferences.
The 14-team RPAC tournament will begin Thursday.
In the West Division, Wauneta-Palisade will travel to Paxton to take on Hitchcock County at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Also at Paxton will be the Tigers, both the host team and Dundy County Stratton.
Wallace, as the top seed in the West and ranked ninth in Class D2, will host the other half of the West bracket that includes Maxwell and Maywood/Hayes Center.
Each team will play two games Thursday. If WP wins it will play at 8 p.m. CT and if the Broncos lose they will play at 6:30 p.m. CT.
A win in either game will move WP on to games Monday to be played at the highest seed remaining.
The top two teams from each the East and West Divisions will play Monday at the Graff Center on the McCook Community College campus.
Southwest, third in Class D1, is the top seed in the East Division. Cambridge is ranked second in Class D2.
SPVA plays Saturday
Grant will host the SPVA tournament Saturday.
Chase County is seeded fifth and will play North Platte St. Pat’s, the fourth seed, at 10 a.m.  in the Pritchett Gym.
A win will advance the Longhorns to the 11:30 game against top-seeded Bridgeport.
A loss would move CCS into the consolation triangular, starting with a 1 p.m. game in the Pritchett Gym against either second-seeded Perkins County or seventh-seeded Kimball then a 4 p.m. game against either third-seeded Hershey or sixth-seeded Sutherland.
