Chase County’s Bryn McNair and Sutherland’s Story Rasby head down the stretch stride for stride in the 400-meter dash. McNair would get the win, but Rasby still has the best 400-meter dash time in the state while McNair sits in fourth overall.

Chase County girls dominate Sutherland Invite

The Chase County girls’ track team took advantage of another nice day of weather last week to cruise to a team title at the Sutherland Invite.
CCS finished with 191 points, more than doubling up on runner-up North Platte St. Pat’s 86 points.
The Longhorns won 11 events at the meet. Bryn McNair won the 400 and 800-meter runs, plus the high jump.
The 400-meter dash was a fun one for fans with McNair facing off with one of the only runners with a better time in the race, Sutherland freshman Story Rasby. The pair entered the home stretch stride for stride, but Rasby took a slight lead before McNair pulled ahead for the win by 0.29.
Jerzee Milner took wins in both hurdles races.
Kaylie Lotspeich won both throwing events.
    Jordan Jablonski won pole vault.
    Chase County swept the relays.
The 400-meter relay team, Chloe Dillan, Jablonski, Ali McNair and Milner, beat NPSP by nearly a second.
Peyton Owens, Jablonski, A. McNair and B. McNair teamed up to win the 1,600-meter relay by 15 seconds.
The 3,200-meter relay team, Lucy Spady, Olivia Spady, Landree McNair and Jablonski, also ran away from the field and took a big win.
The Longhorns hosted their Chase County Invite Tuesday.
The team will travel to Hershey Saturday for the Mike Troxel Invite. Field events are scheduled for a 9 a.m. MT start.
JV athletes will travel to McCook Monday. Events will begin at noon MT.
The SPVA meet is also creeping up on the calendar. Perkins County will host conference schools April 29 for the meet.
