Chase County Fair and Expo host Extreme Bull Riding Tour

    Members of Bullriders of American were in Imperial Monday night for the Chase County Fair and Expo’s Bull Ride Challenge.
    Riders were part of the Extreme Bull Riding Tour with stock from the Double S Bull Company. Area sponsors included Nutrien Ag Solutions,  Coors Distributing of North Platte, Dyna-Gro Seed, Hayden Outdoors Real Estate and The Beverage Barn
    Out of the 26 riders, four-time tour winner LeRoy Miller of Blakesburg, Iowa won the event with a score of 88.0 on a reride to jump into first place in this year’s standings.
    Second place went to Hunter Tate of Coffeeville, Kansas for his ride of 84.5. Third went to Riley Jones of Eagle Butte, South Dakota.
    Riders from across the Midwest took part, including Hayes Center’s Jett Sjeklocha.
    Ten high school and younger riders rode, as well.
    Korey Poppe of Sutton, Nebraska won the junior bullriding with a 75.0 ride. Tysen Schiedeman, also of Sutton, tied for second with Hadley Harris of New Market, Iowa. Both had 74.0 rides.
    Bullfighters Kord Eagleburger and Mason Sheldon entertained the crowd, as did skits by barrelman Prexton Broxton.
    Overall a crowd of 700 watched the event. After the bull riding was completed, a large group stuck around to watch the City of Imperial’s fireworks display.
    The Extreme Bull Riding Tour will continue through September until the tour ends in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in October.
