CCS Winter Sports Guidelines as of 12/2/20

Chase County Schools has implemented the following guidelines for CCS sports activities and fan/parent attendance:

From Superintendent Adam Lambert:

Dear Chase County Patrons,

I want to send a quick message out to everyone so we are all on the same page.  Due to the governors DHM, winter sports audiences will look a little different for the time being.

  1. Only parents/guardians (household members) of an active participant may attend winter sports activities and have to sit within their family cohort.
  2. Due to our gym capacity, we can only allow 4 household members in per active participant.
  3. An active participant is defined as a student who is suited up during the activity at hand.
  4. The gym will be cleared after every game so the proper household members can enter and watch their participating child.
  5. Masks are required at all times and concessions will not be offered.

If your child suits up only for Varsity, you are not allowed to come watch the Jr. Varsity game as your child would not be considered an active participant.  If your child only suits up for Jr. Varsity, you will not be allowed to stay and watch the varsity contest as your child is not an active participant.

As we would like to fill our stands and get a true home court advantage, we are unable to due to the current DHM set in place by the Governor.

We are thankful that we are still in school and able to offer all of these activities even though the limited audience situation is frustrating.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and ask that you help us keep the ability to offer 4 household family members in attendance per active participant.  This is an organizational nightmare as we have to gather names from home and away teams for every activity to verify families to make sure we are in compliance with the current DHM.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of wrestling meets, these guidelines will change due to capacity issues.

CCS will stream all games so everyone else who likes to support CCS will still be able to keep up with our student athletes.

Thanks for your continued support of CCS,
