CCS Boys wrestling team wins Medicine Valley Invite

    The CCS boys wrestling team traveled to Medicine Valley on Friday, Jan. 26 and brought home first place, beating second place Sutherland by 17.
    The team also had two wrestlers score their 100th win. Luis Co and Thomas Reeves both surpassed the 100 mark early in the tournament. Both received 100 win certificates.
    As a team, the Longhorns brought home 10 medals, including 4 first place, 3 second place, 2 third place and a fourth place.
    Firstplace finishers included Luis Co (150), Thomas Reeves (175), Jaret Peterson (215) and Zach Tarin (285).
    Scott Hoover (144), Westyn Mendenhall (157) and Tyler O’Neil (165) all made it to the championship match, but came home with second place finishes.
    Ray Murillo Jr. (190) and Jesus Medina (215) both finished in third while Jaqueb Hoover (132) finished in fourth.

120—Jackson Cyboron (2-14) was pinned by Kaiden Schelling (SC/F) 0:41, was pinned by Jace Kackmeister (NP) 2:27.
126—Connor Einspahr (17-19) pinned Chris Hock (Ber) 1:54, lost by sudden victory to Oliver Nutter (SUT) 2-4, bye, won by decision over Coleman Firme (SC/F) 7-2, lost by decision to Jase Roberson (GC) 0-4.
132—Jaqueb Hoover (15-20) bye, won by decision over Gage Helgoth (SC/F) 11-6, was pinned by Scotty Eagle (SC/F) 1:54, won by decision over Jake Richter (SUT) 6-0, lost by decision to Gage Helgoth (SC/F) 2-8 for fourth place.
138—Malachi Christensen (20-16) bye, was pinned by Cauy Kohl (SUT) 2:28, pinned Hunter Koetter (MV) 3:00, lost by decision to Mason Toner (PC) 3-5.
