In his second match of the day, Malachi Christensen got a pin over Collin Ramirez of Mitchell in just 0:49 with this un-conventional hold.

CCS boys wrestling finishes third out of nine in Chadron Duals

    The Chase County Boys Wrestling Team traveled to Chadron Friday, Jan. 19 to participate in the nine team Chadron Duals.
    The nine teams where split into three pools. Pool #1 was Mead Colorado, Scottsbluff and Valentine.
    Pool #2 had Natrona County Wyoming, Alliance and Ogallala. Pool #3 was Chase County, Mitchell and Chadron.
    In each pool there would be three duals. The number one team in each pool would then advance to the 1st-3rd place pool. Teams in second in the original pools would advance to the 4th-6th pool and the third place teams would be in the 7th-9th place pool
    Chase County won pool #3 by defeating Chadron, 48-30 and beating Mitchell 39-27. Mitchell then beat Chadron 39-36 to finish second in the pool.
    In pool #1, Mead came out on top, beating Valentine 44-28 and Scottsbluff 54-21. Scottsbluff won over Valentine 45-33 for second.
    In pool #2 it was Natrona County taking first with wins over Alliance, 48-21 and Ogallala, 60-21. Alliance finished second, beating Ogallala 40-25.
    Teams entering the pool for first to third place were Mead, Natrona County and Chase County. Scottsbluff, Alliance and Mitchell would compete for fourth through sixth and Valentine, Chadron and Ogallala for seventh through ninth.
    In Chase County’s pool, Mead defeated Natrona County in the first round 51-22. In round two, Mead beat Chase County 22-43 and in the third it was Natrona County over Chase County 18-39 to give Chase County the third place tournament finish.
    In the fourth through sixth pool, Scottsbluff defeated Alliance 39-30, Scottsbluff beat Mitchell 43-36 and Alliance beat Mitchell 42-34.
    In the seventh through ninth pool it was Valentine beating Chadron 55-21, Valentine over Ogallala 66-4 and Chadron beating Ogallala 48-28.
