Broncos place in top 10 at the Garden County Invite

The Wauneta-Palisade wrestling team had its week cut short after the Dundy County Stratton Invite was canceled last Friday. The Broncos were able to travel to Oshkosh the following day and placed ninth out of 21 teams at Saturday’s Garden County Invite.
Leading the way for the Broncos was Trey McCrumb with a second place finish at 175 lbs.
T. McCrumb won his first three matches by pin before taking on undefeated Kolby Houchin of Bayard in the championship match. T. McCrumb has the largest seeding to placing discrepancy of anyone at the invite after being seeded 14th and finishing as runner up.
Konner McCrumb went 3-2 and placed fourth, including splitting matches with Sedgewick County/Fleming, Colorado’s Cash Campbell. K. McCrumb is now 12-9 on the season.
Kameran McCrumb picked up the Broncos’ other win at the invite, winning his second match at 150 lbs.
Also on the mats were Andrew Mackety, 126 lbs; Jack Ward, 190 lbs; and Draven Miner, 285 lbs.
The Broncos will stay close to home this week. WP will take part in the Chase County Quadrangular Friday night, then the Chase County Invite Saturday.
The RPAC meet will be Jan. 19 in Benkelman.
