Broncos battle at Medicine Valley Invite

    After a trip to Cambridge April 9, the Wauneta-Palisade track teams returned to Cambridge Thursday for the Medicine Valley Invite.
    Grant Walker had the Broncos’ best finishes of the day. Walker was second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes behind Brady’s Dillon Miller.
    Kyle Jutten also placed in two events. Jutten was third in the high jump with a PR of 5’10”and placed fifth in the pole vault. Aidan Kennicutt was seventh in the discus and eighth in the shot put. Laiden Lawler placed eighth in the discus and ran a leg on the 400-meter relay. The relay, including Jacksen Littrel, Grayden Sutherland and Jutten, placed seventh.
    For the girls’ team, Alexa Sandman placed third in the hurdles, while GraCee Goings was third in the discus. Peyton Cox placed fourth in shot put with a PR of 32’3”. Brooke Knotts was fifth in the 200-meter dash and seventh in the 100-meter dash. Ryleigh McCrumb and Jewel Holthus were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400-meter dash.
    The girls’ team also placed in two relays. The 400-meter relay team of Sandman, McCrumb, Knotts and Cali Cox was fifth, while the 1,600-meter relay team of Knotts, Holthus, McCrumb and Sophia Alfayo was fourth.

    The Broncos were at Hitchcock County Wednesday and is now off until the RPAC meet April 28 in Bertrand.
