Cody Holmes locks up with Chase County’s Zach Tarin in their 195 lb. match at Saturday’s Chase County Invite.

Bronco wrestlers headed to RPAC

With the weekend’s Chase County Quadrangular and CCS Invitational behind them, the Wauneta-Palisade wrestling team can look forward to taking on the RPAC Friday at Alma.
Matches will begin at noon MT.
WP won two of three duals last Friday at Chase County.
The Broncos didn’t need to wrestle a match to win over Leyton.
The dual between Kimball and WP only featured one match, a loss by Coleman Chism at 106 lbs., but the Broncos won the dual because they had fewer forfeits.
Chism, Cole Hamilton, Cody Holmes and Laila Aufdengarten lost matches in WP’s dual with CCS. Conner Bryner took the team’s only win.
WP was back in Imperial the following morning for the CCS Invite.
Cole Hamilton placed third in the four-man pool at 220 lbs. and Cody Holmes fourth in the five-man pool at 195 lbs.
Conner Bryner went 2-2 at 170 pounds and placed fifth in the nine-man bracket. Bryner lost his semifinal match to 22-6 Kolyn Gaston of Hitchcock County and lost his consolation semifinal match to Garden County’s Dallas Miller (16-5). Bryner finished off his day with a second period pin in the fifth place match.
Also competing for the Broncos was Chism at 106 lbs and Aufdengarten at 160 lbs.
