Bronco girls end RPAC with win over Paxton

For the second time in seven days, the Wauneta-Palisade girls’ basketball team took to the court against Paxton on Jan. 27.
After missing players with illnesses the week before, Paxton put a much more complete team on the floor, but the result was the same, a 51-31 WP win.
WP went 6-6 from the charity stripe in the first quarter and took an 11-7 lead. Cali Cox buried a three pointer and Chloe Stehno added a two point bucket.
Though the Broncos continued to shoot well from the charity stripe in the second quarter, making 5-6, WP heated up from the field, as well. C. Cox added another basket and GraCee Goings, Alexa Sandman and Izabelle Stehno tossed in buckets, too.
After holding a 29-13 lead at halftime, WP continued to pull away in the second half. Peyton Cox made her first two field goals of the game. C. Stehno and C. Cox added to their points totals, as well.
The Broncos finished off the win with fourth quarter points from Sandman, C. Stehno, C. Cox and P. Cox.
Sandman led WP with 14 points. P. Cox scored 11 points.
