Boys drop game to DCS 35-51

The Chase County Boys Basketball team traveled to Benkelman Tuesday Jan. 2 to take on the (7-2) Tigers. After a good first half, everything went south in the second half of the game.
Nothing would fall in the second half for the Horns. Time after time, shots from the paint couldn’t find there way through the hoop. Only 11 out of a total of 41 shots fell for the Horns giving them about a 27% make rate.
On the other side, the Tigers made just over 61% of their shots, making 19 of 31 from the two point range.
Neither team had a good handle on the three pointers, with Chase County hitting just 2-17 and DCS 2-11.
The Longhorns also gave up 13 second chance points while only scoring five of their own.
After leading 25-24 at halftime, it was all DCS in the second half. The Tigers scored 13 in the third period and 14 in the final stanza, while the Horns only put up six and four respectivly.
That drops the Longhorns record to 3-6 on the year. Jensen Olsen was the top scorer for the Longhorns with 14.
Olsen also led in rebounds with eight followed closely by Cameron Lempke with seven.
DCS had three players in double figures with Jackson Kerchal leading the team with 17. Dante Horner had 14 while Lane Bybee scored 10.
