Area athletes knocking on the door of winter seasons

Winter weather is in the forecast and winter sports are on school schedules.
Chase County will travel for its first basketball games of the season, heading to Cozad Thursday, Nov. 30. Class B McCook will come to Imperial the next night. The following week will include a trip to Sidney and hosting Ogallala.
Wauneta-Palisade starts its basketball season with a pair of Class D2 schools. The Broncos will be at home against Wallace Nov. 30. The following night WP will travel to Cambridge.
This year’s Cattle Trail Invitational will be Dec. 5-9 in McCook.
CCS wrestlers will also see their first action Nov. 30. The Longhorns will head to Oshkosh for a triangular with Bridgeport and Garden County. The Broken Bow Invitational will be Dec. 2.
The Chase County girls wrestling team will have its first invite Dec. 1 at Southwest. The girls team will travel to Hershey Dec. 4.
For the Broncos, the wrestling season also begins Dec. 1 at the Hi-Line Invite. WP will go to the Mullen Invite Dec. 2.
