WP kicks off one-act season; RPAC, district contests next

Wauneta-Palisade’s one-act play cast kicked off its season Saturday at the North Platte Blue and Gold One-Act Play Production contest.
WP performed “The Mysterious Mystery of the Lost Letters” by Salwa Meghjee and Samah Meghjee.
The synopsis says, “Zoe is an assistant to Detective Davis Darvis, an incompetent amateur who does not appreciate her talents. When he accepts a case regarding an old woman’s stolen letters, he rejects Zoe’s proposal to help. She teams up with her friend Isaac in a race to solve the case before Darvis does, using her wit combined with Isaac’s botanical knowledge to aid their search. Their adventure brings them across an elderly pro-wrestler, a duck-obsessed cult, a knitting gang and more as they try to find the lost letters.”
Advisor Tayler Nordhausen said they tinkered with the scrip to fit the actors available. They renamed Isaac as Nancy because they did not have a boy to fill the part.
WP finished seventh in its section.
“We got some great feedback that will help us adjust for RPAC on Saturday,” Nordhausen said.
Receiving actor awards were Ruel Malcolm, Chloe Stehno, Peyton Vrbas, Grayden Sutherland and Abi Greaves!
Saturday’s RPAC competition will be held at Southwest High School in Bartley.
WP is in the D1-6 District which scheduled its contest Nov. 30 in North Platte. Other schools competing will be Wallace, South Platte, Minatare, Dundy County Stratton, Stapleton, Leyton and Garden County.
