WP announces students of the month

Wauneta-Palisade has announced Axel Einspahr, Myka Applegarth, Kianna Wheeler and Sophia Roundy as Students of the Month for April and May.
Axel and Myka were chosen for April.
Axel, a kindergartener, was nominated by his teacher, Dawn Doetker, at Wauneta-Palisade Schools. Doetker said  Axel comes to school with a smile on his face.
“He enjoys being around his friends. Axe works very hard in class and wants to do well to earn a ‘3!’ His attendance is amazing! So very proud of you, Axel,” Doetker said.
Myka, a fourth grader, was nominated by her teacher, Jennifer DeWester.
DeWester said Myke is always willing to help anyone who needs it and never runs out of hugs to give out.
“She always tries her hardest in class and follows directions every day. Her smile is contagious and she puts people in a good mood when she’s around. Myka’s fun loving attitude and goofiness make her so enjoyable to be around. Smart! Funny! Kind! Responsible! And quirky,” DeWester said.
Kianna and Sophia are May’s Students of the Month.
Kianna was nominated by her third grade teacher, Tori Guillen.
“Kianna is such a joy to have in class. Every morning she enters the classroom with a bright smile on her face and a cheery ‘good morning.’ Her peers would agree with me in saying that she is a great friend,” Guillen said, adding, when being a good friend Kianna goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels included and helps when her peers are feeling sad.
“I love how much of a positive attitude she has and how honest she is. Kianna shows up every day ready to learn and willing to participate in all our class discussions. In class she is always trying to do her best and asks for help when she needs it. While we are doing writing projects, she does a great job of going back and making corrections. I love seeing her creativity,” Guillen said.
Sophia was nominated by her teacher, Mrs. Burrell, who said the second grader has a positive attitude every day.
“Her bubbly personality lights up our classroom. She is always willing to lend a hand to her teacher and classmates. Sophia has worked extremely hard this year in her school work, and is very proud of her accomplishments. Good work, Sophia! Keep reaching for the stars,” Burrell said.
