Veteran teacher joins WP teaching staff

Nancy Sorensen, a native of Alliance, Nebraska, is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience to her credit.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Chadron State College and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Wayne State College, both in Nebraska.
Sorensen joined the Wauneta-Palisade School staff in the fall teaching language arts and math to middle school students.
“Teaching is all about the kids. It’s who I am and what I enjoy doing,” she said.
While growing up, Sorensen said she had a teacher that made a huge impact on her life. “She was kind and patient, and she took the time to get to know me. I wanted to do the same for my students—to assist in their overall growth.”
She is a life-long learner, she said with feeling. When she’s not working at what she loves, she likes walking outdoors. “Walking is huge for me, and so is spending time with family and my three grandchildren,” said Sorensen.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach in a community that has been so supportive,” she added.
