Smith, Dannatt selected as CCS Students of the Month

Chase County Schools (CCS) Staff in correlation with CCS’ Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Team have nominated and selected October’s Students of the Month. Students of the month are nominated by staff members based on positive qualities or actions that teachers have observed that go above and beyond the usual expectations. The nominations are reviewed by the PBIS team and two students are picked based on the number of nominations and what was observed by the nominators.
August/September’s Students of the Month are Tessa Smith and Kevin Dannatt.
Smith is a sophomore at CCS. She is the daughter of Preston and Marissa Smith.
Smith will always be found going above and beyond to help out her school and fellow students.
Smith is involved in many aspects of CCS. She is a member of the cross country, basketball, and track teams. She also participates in one act and choir.
Here is what Mr. Zuege said about Smith, “Tessa is a spreader of positivity. In class, in the hallways, and in activities, Tessa is a person who encourages others and sets a great example with her positive attitude. She is helpful, encouraging, and provides a great example of how we ask our students to lead through their actions.”
Chase County’s second winner is Kevin Dannatt, a senior at CCS. He is the son of Hillary Dannatt.
Dannatt’s attitude and encouragement of classmates is what has stood out to the teachers at CCS.
Chris Bartels, math teacher, basketball and cross country coach at CCS, had this to say about Dannatt, “Kevin has had a great start to the school year. He comes to school everyday with a positive attitude and encourages his peers to do so as well. Kevin is very appreciative and always willing to give a helping hand when needed. He joined the cross country team for his senior year and has been an awesome teammate since the start. Kevin has grown so much as a person and student during his high school years, and is well deserving of PBIS Student of the Month. Congratulations, Kevin!”
Dannatt is currently participating in Esports and Cross Country. He also participates in one act and choir for CCS. Outside of school he works in the community at Super Foods.
Congratulations once again to Tessa and Kevin for being selected Chase County High School’s August/September Students of the Month!!
