Reyes, Tarin CCS January Students of the Month

Chase County Schools (CCS) staff in correlation with CCS’ Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team have nominated and selected January’s Students of the Month. Students of the month are nominated by staff members based on positive qualities or actions that teachers have observed that go above and beyond the usual expectations. The nominations are reviewed by the PBIS team and two students are picked based on the number of nominations and what was observed by the nominators.
January’s Students of the Month are Brayan Reyes and Zachariah Tarin.
Reyes is a junior at CCS. He is the son of Adriana Leon and Aldemar Reyes. Brayan is involved in cross country, basketball and track and field at CCS. Brayan is an amazing student both academically and behaviorally. He always has a positive attitude and is willing to help whenever and wherever he is needed. His leadership and personality radiate through our halls.
Chris Bartels had the following to say about Reyes, “Brayan is a great student and an even better kid. He brings a positive attitude and smile to school every day, and you can see how it positively impacts everyone he’s around. He’s quick to help someone in need and never expects anything in return. I admire Brayan’s consistent positive attitude and willingness to help others, and I believe he deserves a Student of the Month nomination.”
Jacci Paisley also nominated Reyes for student of the month.
She had the following message to share, “Brayan constantly is doing the right thing. I have never witnessed Brayan being disrespectful to students or teachers. If you want to see a student working hard, striving to do his best in the classroom, on the basketball court, running, or in the hallway, watch Brayan! His positive mindset is contagious!”
Tarin is also junior at CCS. He is the son of Jose and Ashley Tarin. Zach is very involved at CCS, participating in football, wrestling and track. Tarin is a fantastic young man and a vocal leader at CCS. He has a way to always bring others up and make them feel better. He will go out of his way to help someone, and never expects anything in return.
Marisa McDaniel had the following to say about Tarin, “Zach is a student that always is trying to do the right thing, but he does it quietly so it isn’t always noticed. He is polite to staff in the hallway and always kind to his classmates. He makes it a point to make sure that every student feels like they are important and have a place at this school.”
To add onto those kind words was Beau McConnell.
“Zach is a hardworking student and student-athlete who goes out of his way to help others in need. Zach consistently demonstrates high quality characteristics including integrity, accountability, and leadership,” McConnell said.
Congratulations once again to Reyes and Tarin for being selected Chase County High School’s January Students of the Month.
