Nominations choose Students of the Month for March at WP

The March Students of the Month at Wauneta-Palisade Schools are Jade Fanning and fifth graders Gunner Cox, Riley Einspahr and Barrett Frecks.
Jade was nominated by her teacher, Colby Cox.
Cox wrote the following:
Jade is the kind of student to always put a smile on others’ faces. She comes to school in a good mood, and is always excited to learn! Jade always takes pride in doing her best work with each and every assignment and activity. She is always kind to her classmates, and willing to lend a helping hand! Jade participates in class discussions, and is never afraid to ask for help. She works very hard to help keep a positive classroom environment, and helps her classmates have fun and learn!
Gunner Cox, Riley Einspahr and Barrett Frecks were nominated for Student(s) of the Month by their teacher, Hannah Curl.
Curl wrote the following:
These boys have been working extra hard in ELA and math. They have been assigned extra work, on top of their normal work. They have worked on sixth and seventh grade math standards. Some of their IXL questions are so complicated that their teacher struggles to help them!
Curl continued, noting their IXL language arts scores are in the seventh and eighth grade levels. These fifth grade boys have been reading extra books and doing novel studies with them. This book club is in addition to their normal weekly reading assignments. They read in their free time and have extra homework to do. They complain very little while doing this extra work.
“I have been very proud of their hard work and dedication. Their self-motivation will serve them well when they move onto the sixth-grade next year. Gunner, Riley and Barrett, great job on all of your extra work. Keep pushing yourselves and each other to excel in and out of the classroom,” Curl said.
