Nebraska FFA Foundation presents Mission: True Blue at Wauneta-Palisade

As FFA programs continue to be added to schools across the state, the Nebraska FFA Foundation is looking to spread the word about its mission to support Nebraska students.
RanDee Barger served as ambassador at Wauneta-Palisade Schools on Monday morning when it hosted Stacey Agnew, director of the Nebraska FFA Foundation and a WP graduate, and Sarah Mullen, development and marketing director, as part of the foundation’s Mission: True Blue.
FFA programs in Nebraska now number over 200, and the trend indicates more are coming. With additional programs come more grant requests to the Nebraska FFA Foundation.
As the only state that doesn’t offer career and technical education funding, the Nebraska FFA Foundation can help fill that gap.
Mullen said the foundation has received grant applications totaling over $200,000 this year, but the foundation only has $80,000 to give out.
The 60-minute Mission: True Blue program offers businesses and individuals an inside look at the foundation’s mission and impact as it advocates for FFA and agriculture.
The program offers three stations, Building Communities, Growing Leaders and Creating Career Connection, which included testimonials.
From a local standpoint, another WP graduate, Cord Lee, gave his testimonial on how FFA has impacted his life.
Employees from HomeTown Agency and Frenchman Valley Coop were on hand, as well as individuals who support FFA.
Agnew and Mullen headed to Hitchcock County Schools for a Monday afternoon Mission: True Blue presentation, as well.
Agnew said they’ve been giving around two Mission: True Blue programs a month and are open to more.
The foundation is looking for more ambassadors to help spread the word about its mission.
