National qualifiers emerge from state FBLA conference
Several members of the Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Chase County Schools have qualified for nationals.
That came at the FBLA State Leadership Conference held April 3-5 in Kearney.
Advisor Sandy O’Neil said students in both the middle level and high school chapters at CCS attended, and all students competed in five events and attended a seminar while at the conference.
Seniors also took advantage of competing in the job interview competition or a Future Business Leader event.
National qualifiers from CCS include the 1st place parliamentary procedure team of Brooke Schilke, Navy Havel, Tessa Smith and Anna Aragon.
Eighth grader Andee Schoenholz qualified for nationals with a pair of seconds in Business Ethics and Leadership.
However, O’Neil said each student can only compete in one event at nationals so some of the students that place in the top three have to choose which event they want to go in.
Schoenholz will have to make that choice, which allowed McNair to now attend nationals in Intro to Business Concepts, O’Neil said.
Nebraska takes the top three people to nationals from the high school contests and the top two from the junior high divisions, she added.
Nationals will be held June 26 to July 1 in Atlanta.
