Imperial, WP FFA compete at LDE

The season’s first FFA Leadership Development Event was held Dec. 12 at the Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
Wauneta-Palisade took four junior high Quiz Bowl teams, with one advancing to the second round.
WP FFA Advisor Tana Engel said her chapter is continuing to build and grow.
For Imperial FFA, one of its Conduct of Chapter Meetings teams was district champions and qualified for state. Team members are Tessa Smith, Navy Havel, Anna Aragon, Harrison Foote, Carter Kuenning, Tate Teply and Aiden Tomky.
The CCM team of Violet Sparrow, Paige Owens, Jaxsen Villareal, Evan O’Neil, Alayna Smith and Gigi Schaufenbuel received a red ribbon.
Receiving second purple and qualifying for state was Mason Tyerman in Senior Public Speaking.
Kylee Wiest earned a red ribbon in Employment Skills.
Imperial FFA had five teams in the Junior High Quiz Bowl Invitational.
Placing first was the team of James Adel, Lukas Fries, Nora Weiss and Villareal.
The third place team was Tomky, Teply, Cadence Lambert and Charlie Johnson.
Earning fourth place was Alex Nelson, Luke Kuenning, Dominic Harris, Max Bernard and Conner Stromberger.
Making up Imperial’s fifth team was A. Smith, Schaufenbuel, Isla Jenkins, Owens and Sparrow.
