Imperial FFA junior, senior judging teams qualify for state

Imperial FFA qualified its junior and senior livestock judging teams for state at the school year’s first Career Developement Event Nov. 9 in Curtis.
The junior team placed first overall. Tessa Smith, Odessa Zadina and Jayme Gittlein all earned purples after placing first, third and sixth, respectively.
The senior team finished in fifth place. Liz Reeves, seventh place, and Peyton Dubas, 12th place, led the way with blue ribbons.
The junior high team placed third overall. Ali Reeves earned the team’s only purple with an eighth place finish.
Other competitions that day were agriscience and natural resources.
The agriscience team placed sixth. Zadina was Imperial’s top finisher, coming in at sixth place.
The next FFA contests will be a Leadership Development Event Dec. 12.
