Imperial FFA finishes in top 10 at State Range Judging

Imperial FFA placed eighth in the junior division at State Range Judging last week.
The team of Miranda Spady, Odessa Zadina, Malachi Christensen, Carter Kuenning, Westyn Mendenhall and Jasmine Johnson traveled to Dawes County Sept. 29.
Spady had the team’s top finish, 19th. Zadina placed 21st, Christensen was 39th, Kuenning 61st, Mendenhall 91st and Johnson 93rd.
In the senior division, Peyton Dubas placed 48th.
Area 3 Range Judging was held Sept. 29 in Chase County.
The juniors placed second as a team. Kuenning led Imperial FFA with a fourth place finish, followed by Christensen in fifth and Spady in seventh.
Zadina was 11th, Johnson was 21st and Mendenhall was 25th.
Hayes Center had the three top individuals and finished first and third in the team competition. Cambridge was fourth.
Dubas placed 12th out of 74 in the senior division.
Hayes Center teams placed first and third in Area 3. McCook was second and Southern Valley was fourth. McCook’s Joseph Barenberg was the event’s top individual.
In the adult division, Hayes Center’s Randy Vlasin was first and Imperial’s Jason Speck finished in second place. Alma’s Ben Robison and Ogallala’s Lydia Vinton also competed.
