FCCLA qualifies several for state after district STAR event

The FCCLA chapter at Chase County Schools participated in the District STAR events in Curtis Feb. 2 at Medicine Valley High School.
STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition.
Members participate in competitive events at the region/district, state and national level and are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation.
“All Chase County members who attended received medals, and those who received silver medals will be competing at the state competition in Lincoln April 3 through 5,” said Sheryl Curtis, FCCLA sponsor.
Students who received silver medals and qualified for state include:
Tristen Stumpff in Career Investigation (Level 2).
Ella Colson and Katelyn Stamm in Event Management (Level 2).
Emily Randall and Marley Randall in Focus on Children (Level 1).
Hope Reinke and Joslyn Kimble in Focus on Children (Level 2).
Raissa Nevarez received a bronze medal in Focus on Children (Level 3).
“With the exception of Tristen Stumpff, this was the first year the members competed,” Curtis said.
Chase County provided two volunteer judges for the competition—Julie Ferguson and Debbie Kuenning.
