FCCLA members place several at conference

    On April 2-4, the Chase County Schools FCCLA chapter attended the State Leadership Conference in Lincoln.
    Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national organization that helps students become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.
    Along with FCCLA Advisor Misty Jaeger, seven members attended including Raissa Nevarez, Brittany Ayala, Ashley Cazares, Hope Reinke, Tristen Stumpff, Marley Randall and Esmeralda Medrano.
    The CCS  chapter won a Gold Chapter Award, a Community Service Award and a Feed Nebraska Award.
    Sophomore Esmeralda Medrano participated in “Teach or Train” and placed third.
    In sixth place, sophomore Hope Reinke and freshman Marley Randall competed in “Focus on Children.”
    FCCLA president Tristen Stumpff placed sixth in “Interior Design.”
    FCCLA also advocates for family and consumer sciences education and helps members develop the skills they need to become leaders in their families, careers and communities.
    State FCCLA is the state-level organization that oversees local FCCLA chapters and provides opportunities for members to participate in leadership development, competitive events, community service and other activities.
