Eight FCCLA students attend Lincoln conference

Over 1,000 members and adult sponsors gathered for the Nebraska Family, Career and Community Leaders of American State Leadership Conference in Lincoln, April 3-5.
Eight FCCLA students from Chase County Schools attended the conference.
FCCLA is a national career and technical student organization that aids young men and women in their journey to become leaders and teaches them lifelong skills, said Sheryl Curtis, CCS Family and Consumer Science instructor and FCCLA sponsor.
It demonstrates the importance of understanding how to address important career, community, family and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education, she added.
The students were provided a chance to connect with over 30 colleges, organizations and businesses during the conference’s Opportunity Fair.
Encouragement was given to members by keynote speaker, EJ Carrion, to go after their dreams and not let fear or chance of failure stand in their way.
There were gold, silver and bronze medals given in various categories.
Students from CCS who participated and all received bronze medals were:
Career Investigation (Level 2) Tristen Stumpff
Event Management (Level 2) Ella Colson and Katelyn Stamm
Focus on Children (Level 1) Emily Randall and Marley Randall
Focus on Children (Level 2) Joslyn Kimble and Hope Reinke
