College, university grads taking next steps in life

    May is the season for commencement ceremonies at colleges and universities, and a number of young men and women with ties to Imperial have earned post-secondary degrees this spring.
    Here is a recap of their achievements.
Destiny Reinke
    Destiny Reinke is the daughter of Stephanie Reinke of Imperial.
    She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.
    Reinke attended UNK with scholarships in track and field and cross country.
    She plans to continue grad classes at UNK in the fall. Once completed, she will seek employment as a counselor in the behavioral and mental health field.
    Reinke graduated from CCS in 2017.
Hunter Bartels
    Tami and Sid Bartels of Imperial are proud to announce the graduation of their son, Hunter Bartels, from Concordia University in Seward.
    Bartels received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education and Sign Language.
    He participated in track at Concordia throughout his college career.
    He has accepted a teaching position in special education at Belmont Elementary in Lincoln and will begin in the fall.
    Bartels graduated from CCS in 2017.
Lanee Nordhausen
    Lanee Nordhausen, daughter of Chad and Sunni Nordhausen of Wauneta, graduated May 7 with a Bachelor of Art degree from Wayne State College, majoring in Music/Music Industry with a minor in Business.
    She is completing her degree with an internship at Rabble Mill and The Bay in Lincoln this summer.
    Nordhausen was a 2018 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School.
