Chase County School graduation fills the gym Saturday, May 11

    The new bleachers were filled in the Longhorn gym Saturday, May 11, for the 2024 Graduation Ceremony.
    The class flower was the orange double tulip. The class chose Orange, black and white for the class colors.
    The class of 2024 motto: Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.-Winston Churchill.
    Mason Tyerman and Kathya Aragon gave the opening at the  graduation ceremony, followed by CCS 7-12 principal Christopher Barr with a welcome to the graduates and large crowd in attendance.
    Valedictorian, Brooke Schilke and Salutatorian, Faith Hauxwell each addressed their piers and fellow graduates.
    The 9th Street Singers sang “Oceans and Stars”, directed by David Rushing and accompanied by Rob Browning.
    The seniors then went into the crowd for a flower ceremony, presenting an Orange Double Tulip to a special loved one of their choice.
    After a brief slideshow presentation of the seniors, CCS Superintendent Adam Lambert spoke and presented the class of 2024.
    47 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas from members of the CCS Board of Education.
    CCS 7-12 School Counselor Jacci Paisley led the movement of the tassels.
    Kylee Wiest and Iris Robles closed out the ceremony, before the students exited the gym to the CCS band playing “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.
    Ushers for the ceremony were members of the National Honor Society. Ava McNair, Olivia Spady, Navy Smith and Andrew Wiest served as Junior Escorts.
    The graduates lined up in front of the school for congratulations from the crowd.
