Chase County FBLA satisfied with national conference performances

Members of the Chase County FBLA chapter weren’t able to get to the finals in their events at the National FBLA Conference, but advisor Sandy O’Neil said they felt good about their performances.
Chapter members qualified for nationals at the FBLA State Leadership Conference April 3-5 in Kearney.
National qualifiers from CCS included the state conference’s 1st place parliamentary procedure team of Brooke Schilke, Navy Havel, Tessa Smith and Anna Aragon. The group took a test at nationals.
Eighth grader Andee Schoenholz qualified for nationals in Business Ethics. At the national convention she performed and took a test.
Ava McNair took part in Intro to Business Concepts. Like the parli pro team, McNair took a test.
Nationals were held June 26 to July 1 in Atlanta.
“They enjoyed going to workshops and networking and trading pins with FBLA members from across the nation,” O’Neil said.
The group enjoyed sight seeing Atlanta, including Georgia Aquarium, Chick fil-A headquarters, Atlanta Braves and World of Coke.
“They enjoyed trying new food each day and the fabulous desserts like Sub Zero liquid nitrogen ice cream and The Yard Milkshake Bar,” O’Neil added.
O’Neil said the chapter appreciates everyone who supported them and donated money for their trip to Atlanta.
CCS graduate Ella O’Neil also traveled to Atlanta June 22-26 for the National FBLA Collegiate Conference.
She placed ninth the Microeconomics and also competed in Foundations of Accounting as a member of the UNK FBLA chapter.
