CCS third at SPVA One-Act

Chase County’s One Act Play production “This Is a Test” placed third in the SPVA Conference contest Monday at Bridgeport High School.
The top three teams announced at the end of the day were, first Bridgeport, “Wild Strawberries;” second Sutherland, “Nora’s Lost;” and third CCS.
Also participating were Perkins County, Hershey, North Platte St. Pat’s and Kimball.
Chase County’s Brayan Cazares-Enriquez was named Best Actor. Sutherland’s McKenna Bliss was Best Actress.
Ten other actors were recognized including, Katie Eckhardt, Glor Naughtin, Sutherland; Claire Linders, Adam Wright, Bridgeport; Katie Abbott, Aubrie Martino, Hershey; Jarrett Miles, Casey Jett, North Platte St. Pat’s; Kaitlin Meyer, Perkins County; and George Colton, Chase County.
Chase County’s production was led by Jill Bauerle and Mary Fortkamp.
Other cast members include Annika McDaniel, Maddie Hanes, Dylan Heermann, Navy Smith, Navy Havel, Tessa Smith, Ashlyn Heermann, Miranda Spady, Katelyn Stamm, Hope Reinke, Olivia Gobble, Krystal Smith, Paige Nickless, Marley Randall, Andrew Wiest and Tristan Nordhausen.
Crew members are Kathya Aragon, Brittany Aylala Valdez, Maddie Clark, Kevin Dannatt, Anahy Diaz Gonzalez, Aragorn Green, Sebastian Harris, Zach Herbert, Mika Killingsworth, Ali McNair, Sergio Quintana, Brayan Reyes, Iris Robles, Hayley Rusher, Brooke Schilke, Ben Skeels and Jesus Juarez Gamboa.
CCS will travel to districts Dec. 3 in Sidney. The B-6 district includes Alliance, Sidney, McCook, Gering, Gothenburg, Chadron, Ogallala and CCS.
The State Play Production Championships for Class B will be Dec. 9.
Local shows
The CCS cast scheduled two local performances of their one-act.
After a show Tuesday this week at 7 p.m., the cast will present “This is a Test” again on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
