CCS November students of the month announced

Chase County Schools (CCS) Staff in correlation with CCS’ Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Team have nominated and selected November’s Students of the Month. Students of the month are nominated by staff members based on positive qualities or actions that teachers have observed that go above and beyond the usual expectations. The nominations are reviewed by the PBIS team and two students are picked based on the number of nominations and what was observed by the nominators. October’s Students of the Month are Scott Hoover and Faith Hauxwell.
Scott Hoover is a sophomore at CCS. He is the son of Alyssa Peyton. Scott is involved in football, wrestling, and track and field at CCS. He always has a positive attitude, and radiates happiness in the hallways.
Mrs. Jaeger had the following to say about Scott, “Scott is an awesome kid who consistently demonstrates leadership, work ethic, and character. Scott is a student in. my Foods class. Every single time we make a food item, he takes the time to tell the whole class that they’ve done a good job, that their food turned out good, etc. I have not seen that before and it really stands out as leadership. Scott has an excellent work ethic with a commitment to timeliness and quality in his work. Finally, Scott consistently demonstrates strong character. He is kind, caring, and has a great sense of humor. I truly enjoy having him in my classroom and am grateful for his presence among students at CCS.” In addition to the kind words from Mrs. Jaeger, Mrs. Jacci Paisley had the following to say, “This year Scotty has gone above and beyond with a positive attitude. He is striving to work hard in class, but also sporting a smile. Oftentimes you will find Scotty treating others in the hallway always sporting a smile. Just recently, he has had the opportunity to shine by being a mentor to younger boys during flag football. The encouragement he provides to these younger students is something that they will always cherish. Thanks for going above and beyond, Scotty!”
Our second winner is Faith Hauxwell, a senior at CCS. She is the daughter of Troy and Mercedes Hauxwell. Faith is an outstanding student and amazing member of the CCS family. Her positivity and joy radiate throughout the school
Mrs. Gockley has Faith as a TA and had the following to say about her,  “Faith is my TA this year. She is always willing to do anything I ask. She comes with a smile on her face every day and my students are always excited to see her. Sometimes when I give her some larger jobs to do, she will even take it to her next few class periods to finish for me if she has some free time! I couldn’t have asked for a better TA this year!” Mrs. Zuege also had some very kind words to share about Faith, “I have had Faith in art classes ever since she was an 8th grader. She is one of the most respectful and responsible students I have. She has consistently shown leadership in the classroom and in school activities. Recently, Faith has put much effort into her art projects and her college art class. She is an excellent role model for younger Longhorns!”
Faith’s involvement at CCS extends beyond the classroom. She is an active member of both the cross country and track teams. The amount of leadership she brings to our hallways will be missed when she leaves this year.
Congratulations once again to Scott and Faith for being selected Chase County High School’s November Students of the Month.
