CCS announces October students of the month

Chase County Schools (CCS) Staff in correlation with CCS’ Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Team have nominated and selected October’s Students of the Month. Students of the month are nominated by staff members based on positive qualities or actions that teachers have observed that go above and beyond the usual expectations. The nominations are reviewed by the PBIS team and two students are picked based on the number of nominations and what was observed by the nominators.
October’s Students of the Month are James Adle and Jason Nelson.
James Adle is a Freshman at CCS. He is the son of Scott and Rose Adle. Adle will always be found spreading positivity and joy to his fellow classmates. Many look to James for his positive and uplifting attitude!
James is involved in many aspects of CCS. He is a member of the baseball and football teams. He is also a dedicated member of the student council.
Calder Forcella, CCS Social Studies teacher, said James brings a great attitude to class everyday and works positively with his peers and course materials.
“Academically, he is always prepared to learn and is doing very well in my class with a 99% percent,” Forcella added
English teacher Lexter Solamillo also had high praise of James saying the following, “He is very respectful. He helps his classmates when things from the activity are not clear to them. He picks up pieces of trash when he sees it on the floor. I admire his dedication to learning.”
Chase County’s second winner is Jason Nelson, a senior at CCS. He is the son of Michael and Linda Nelson. Jason’s positive attitude and outgoing personality are an amazing addition to our CCS hallways!
Sandy O’Neil, business teacher and FBLA advisor had this to say about Jason, “Before the homecoming football game, as you know McNair Agency provided a free meal. It was during this time that Jason noticed an older lady carrying a tray of food behind the football stadium on her way to her car. Jason asked to carry the food for her and then also had a conversation with her all the way to her car. He did all this in his football uniform prior to the football game. This act of kindness and selfless act makes my heart happy!”
Justin Anderson, science teacher had this to add of Jason’s character, “Jason is someone who will always put someone else before himself. His selflessness and character speak volumes about who he will become in life. He can always be seen helping others around him without any expectation of a reward in return. We are truly blessed to have Jason as part of our CCS family”.
Jason is very involved in extracurricular activities. He is a member of the football and track and field teams. Additionally he is a member of our FFA chapter.
Congratulations once again to James and Jason for being selected Chase County High School’s August/September Students of the Month!
