Area grads receive college, university degrees

    Diplomas continued to be awarded to college and university graduates who have ties to Chase County. Here is a recap on some of the accomplishments.
Lesley Towery
    Graduating in May from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctor of Medicine degree was Lesley Towery.
    The 2015 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School then attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the KHOP program and ran track for the Lopers. She earned a BS degree in Biology from UNK in 2019.
    Towery is part of the primary care program at UNMC and is completing the rural track for family medicine. She will do an intern year in Omaha and then move on to Scottsbluff to finish her last two years. After that, her plans are to return to McCook to practice family medicine with OB.
    Her parents are Bob and Peggy Goings of Wauneta.
Dalton Harchelroad
    Dalton Harchelroad graduated May 20 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Commencement ceremonies were held at Memorial Stadium.
    Harchelroad will be moving to Minnesota where he will continue to work in the real estate field. He holds a Nebraska real estate license and was involved in property sales while in college.
    The 2019 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School is the son of Michelle Harchelroad of Wauneta and the late Brian Harchelroad.
Brit Gockley
    Brit Gockley graduated from Central Community College with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration.
     He is currently employed with Anderson Ford in Lincoln in the sales department.
    The 2021 graduate of Chase County Schools is the son of Joel and Julie Gockley of Imperial.
