Slater Chandler, location manager for Imperial’s Nutrien Ag Systems, has been announced as a board member for the Nebraska Agri-Business Association.
Chandler moved to Nebraska in 2015 after his military career ended in 2013. He was also on the Nebraska Sorghum Producers Association board from 2017-2020 and began working at Nutrien in March 2019.
Chandler said he was asked to run for the NABA board seat for this region. After a talk with his boss, they decided it would be a good way to network and meet people.
New board members were announced in August at the NABA summer convention.
Chairman of the NABA board is Shannon Harney of Oakland. The vice chairman is Doug George of Sutton. Bryan Hoffman, Battle Creek, is the finance chairman. Dan Stork, York, is the past chairman and Scott Merritt is the president.
Other directors are Brittany Bolte, Bassett; Jason Florell, Omaha; Pete Cullan, Gothenburg; Mike Killinger, Broken Bow; Mark Welch, Omaha; and Mike Heins, Kearney.
Chandler, Welch and Heins are all new members serving terms until June 30, 2025.
