Annual meeting for Old Iron Antique & Vintage Tractor Group coming up

Public meeting— all welcome, young and old

Old Iron Antique and Vintage Tractor Group to meet at the Lied Imperial Public Library on April 14, 2024 at 2 p.m. MT. The meeting is to encompass anyone, at any age that is or may become interested in older tractors and vintage machinery.
Agriculture is still the stable of Nebraska’s leading industry. I believe the young people need to understand what my generation and the generations of their parents and grandparents worked with when they were growing up to put food on America’s tables.
The intent is to have fun and be safe and drive a tractor (or old pick up, truck, car) down the highway or dirt road to a destination of historical interest or to an individuals place of tractor or car collection, drive in parades in local towns and by nursing homes, maybe the lake to have a picnic. There are several men and women in the area that collect, restore, drive in parades and show off their “Old Iron Sweethearts.” The group has been invited to see some of these classics.
I would like to see the group partcipate in the Bird City, Kansas Threshers show and Parade, The Tractor and Vehicle Show at Enders Lake every spring and many other meets throughout the Tri-State area. Maybe jump on a local bus and go to a show further away, Clay Center, Nebraska, for example. They have a tractor show and a tractor library research center. There are many other meets that would be fun.
At the April 14th meeting we need to set in motion a time frame of getting the participants together to get started haveing a great time. Hopefully those who have expressed an interest will now partcipate. The meeting is open to all interested or may become interested, men/women/girls, boys/grandparents/friends/neighbors.
“There will be door prizes and snacks.”
We, The Antique Tractor and Machinery Group wish to thank the individuals and businesses for their support. Many have contributed financially and some have donated equipment and supplies.
The following is a list of those who are supporters and if I missed anyone please let me know. I was accompanied by several FFA members to meet with some of you contributors. If you were not contacted previously and wish to support the group, please call Leroy Grams.

The above are all enthusiasts and would like to visit with anyone about ideas or questions. We would also welcome everyone to come anywhere to speak about the Old Iron Group and its vision.
If you do not have a tractor or want to drive, maybe someone could drive your tractor for you or you just want to hang around, that would be fine and welcomed. We need photographers, drones and pilots, news story writers and etc. I would like to see our group and drives, etc. made into movies on DVDs. Someone volunteer please.
The group would like to find someone that would volunteer a parcel of land to let the group plow, cultivate, work the soil with their antique tractors. That idea came from some school students and I would appreciate knowing if someone is interested in doing that.
Bottom line: no interest, no participation = dead club/group.
