Warren Edward Harrison, age 94, of Stratton, Nebraska passed away July 3, 2022 at El Dorado Manor in Trenton.
Warren was born July 15, 1927 in the 3-36 Precinct of Dundy County on the family farm to Elmer and Cleo (Tatum) Harrison. He was raised on the farm and attended Ash Grove school. He left school during his freshmen year of high school to help on the farm. During this time, Warren and his twin brother Wayne would pick corn by hand with a horse drawn wagon.
On Aug. 3, 1948, Warren married Rose A. Maris in her family home near Stratton. Together, they raised children Ed, Bev, Judy and Ken. Growing up on the farm sparked his passion for feeding the world, and he was a lifelong farmer. Warren raised livestock, wheat, corn and other small grains, enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing softball and grew delicious sweet corn. He was a member of the Christian Union Church in Stratton. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, he was happiest when with them.
Warren is preceded in death by parents; wife Rose Harrison; daughter Judy Harrison; brother Don Harrison; sister-in-laws Violet, Joan and Fredora; daughter in laws Barb and Alicia; and infant sister Bonnie Jean.
Those left to celebrate Warren’s life include his children Eddie (Christine) Harrison of North Platte and their family, Benjamin Harrison, Andrew (Rebecca) Harrison and children, Elise and Paige, Kevin (Jessica) Harrison, step children, Lee (Angie), Diahana (Larry), Joseph (Wendy), Lance (Lisa), Mindy (William) and all of their fifteen step children and six step grandchildren, Bev (Gary) Henderson of Stratton and their family, James “Ted” (Christina) Henderson and children, Cooper and Cassidy, Julie (Jarrod) Hilker and girls, Tessa, Malia and Alexa, Joseph (Bekah) Henderson and boys, Kael, Malachi and Xander, and Joshua Henderson and Fiancée Suzanne Wistrand and children, Asa, Elijah, Isaiah, Rush and Atlas, and Ken (Stacy) Harrison of Elk Grove, CA and their family, Crystal (Thomas) Richards and children, Theodore, Violet and Henry, Landon Boone, Stratton (Amanda) Harrison, Lacy Schrock and Milan Harrison; brothers Wayne (Katie) Harrison of Tucson, Arizona and William “Jr” Harrison of Whitehouse, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. (CT) on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Christian Union Church in Stratton.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. (CT) on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Christian Union Church, Stratton, with Pastor Larry Unruh officiating.
Burial will take place at 1:30 (CT), 12:30 (MT), in Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
