Updated Death Notice: Myron “Mike” Kirwan

Myron “Mike” Kirwan, a longtime resident and teacher of Imperial passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at the Pruitt Health Care Center in Monroe, North Carolina. Mike was 92 years of age.
Survivors include: daughter, Karen Weiner and husband, Richard, of Stallings, North Carolina; son, Kris Kirwan and wife, Ana, of Indian Trail, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Chelsea Weiner, Grant Weiner, Jocelyn Weiner, Brian Kirwan, and Katherine Kirwan; siblings, LaRoue Kirwan, Emil Kirwain, LaRae Drew, Maribell Irwin, and David Kirwan
Graveside Services with full military honors will be held Friday, Jan. 21, 1 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, with Pastor Debra Copple officiating. The family will be gathering at the First United Methodist Church of Imperial after services for coffee and friendship.
A celebration of life will also be held in April at the First United Methodist Church of Imperial, for friends and family out of state and those in Nebraska as well.

A memorial, in Mike’s memory, has been suggested to the Kirwan Family for a future designation.
